How to Manage Church AV Equipment Inventory
If your church has ever purchased a cable because nobody knew there were twelve of them in a closet, you need an inventory.
It doesn't have to be complicated.
Record the details your team will need
Record the item. Manufacturer. Model. Serial number. Purchase date. Location. Warranty information. Replacement value.
And, when appropriate, IP address or network information.
Label equipment physically so your database matches the real world.
For portable equipment, establish where items belong.
The goal isn't creating an impressive spreadsheet.
The goal is knowing what you own and being able to find it.
A good inventory is especially useful when planning budgets because it allows leadership to see equipment age and identify upcoming replacement needs before they become emergencies.
