How to Create a Church AVL Maintenance Schedule
Church technology is often maintained in one of two ways: When something breaks, or the week before Easter.
Neither is ideal.
Give recurring maintenance an owner
Build a simple recurring schedule.
Check wireless microphones and connectors. Inspect cables. Clean equipment and filters. Test batteries. Check racks for unusual heat or failed fans. Confirm backups.
Review firmware intentionally rather than installing updates randomly on Saturday night.
Listen to the PA. Check projector filters or laser hours where applicable. Inspect rigging and safety hardware using qualified personnel.
The exact schedule will vary by system. What matters most is assigning ownership.
A maintenance checklist nobody owns is just another document in Google Drive.
Put names and dates next to the work.
Your future Sunday-morning self will be glad you did.
